“Ore Ore Ore”, shouted Mama
“Ma”, responded Ore.
“Where have you been? What are you doing?”, asked Mama.
“I was reading mama,” replied Ore.
“You were reading, but you have not washed the dishes since morning and cooked the stew yet. What kind of wife are you hoping to be?”, asked Mama.
“Everything is about me being a wife. I’m tired!! Surely cooking and cleaning are not the most important attributes of being a wife,” responded Ore.
Before Ore knew it, she received a resounding slap which made her stumble.
“What do you know about being a wife you this useless girl? asked Mama.
“Do what I asked you to do or I will more than slap you next time.” Continued Mama.

Ore put herself together while stopping the tears from rolling down her cheeks and went straight to do what she was asked.
The minute she was done, she asked to be excused. Ore knew that a woman must know how to cook for her family when she had one but so must a man to survive.
This was why she never had any interest in marriage or falling in love because it felt more like a chore than an experience or an adventure.
She is expected to go from lover, wife and then maid!!!!! She was not having it!
If marriage was going to cost her, her sanity and freedom, then she wasn’t about to get herself a husband.
The obstacle now was breaking the news to her nagging parents. Oh for sure she knew they would have a fit and probably kick her out of the house.
Well she was ready for it.
Marriage isn’t for everyone and she felt that deep down in her heart, that applied to her as well.
She knew God had much more in store for her than just being someone’s wife.
If she had to live on the street just so she could have the life she truly wanted, then she would do so.
Good familiar story line in the sense that it resonates with many women in their childhood.
Thank you 😊
Very relatable story I’m sure to almost every woman. Cant wait to see how she and her parents handle the news
Yes it is. I don’t know if there will be a part two but I will see.
