“Life happens, moments come and go, memories last forever but so do regrets” – SOT

Sheila for the life of her could not just recall what happened last night.

One minute she was at the club dancing with her friends, the next minute she was knocked out cold and woke up in a bathtub that wasn’t her own.

She felt around her body and realized that something of hers was missing but she wasn’t sure.

She didn’t even know how she got to this point. It was so unlike her to go to the club yet alone, trust her friends to watch over her drink.

Sheila’s expression

Or did she?

She remembered her friends had coaxed her into going to the club though she had no desire to.

“Oh come on Sheila, don’t be a party pooper said Sam

“For once follow us to the club. Just this one time”, begged Jane.

“If you do, we will never bug you about never doing anything with us”, promised Alexa.

After much deliberation, she was in her room with her friends, looking for what to wear. Once they had finally found something, they called for a ride and went to the club.

The whole time she felt a sense of dread. The whole time she knew she shouldn’t go, but she went anyway to get her friends off her back and experience the club for the first time.

The minute she entered the club her intuition screamed for her to get out. GET OUT! it said. But because she did not want to look paranoid and disappoint the girls, she had gone with the flow of her friends.

They entered, danced and drank…. Well she had asked for water and at some point, she had left her water on the table for her friends to watch while she danced.

It was after the dance that she came back to the table to hydrate herself. And then it happened. One minute she was standing upright drinking water and then her memory ended there. Only for her to wake up to a pool of someone’s blood which she wasn’t sure was her blood.

She didn’t panic because of the state of shock she was in. She simply looked for her phone which was surprisingly next to her and called the police and ambulance for help.

The paramedics came 5 minutes after her call but by then she had passed out once again. By the time she woke up, she had been wheeled to the hospital, and examined. And then given the bad news that two of her organs were missing.

It was her kidneys she believed, well the one that everyone has two of and something else. At some point, she had stopped listening!

She was too shocked 😲

Perplexed..

How could this possibly have happened?

How?

She felt lost and hopeless.

All she could do was call her family and loved ones to give her the strength that she needed to move on from this ordeal.

Where were her friends when all these happened?

She was curious…

Why didn’t they protect her? Were they in on it? She shook her head to come back to reality. Sheila did not want to get in over her head with the girls. Girls she had known all her life. It could not be

Could it?

What was she going to do now?

How was she going to move on?

She needed to lean on someone or something greater than herself to survive.

She needed to breathe.

She needed everything to be normal again, like it was before the club and before the incident.

But it will never be. She was changed by this. Her life will no longer be the same.

If only she could do that night all over again.

She would have listened to her guts and stayed put.

She knew this was going to plague her for a while, if not the rest of her life and she wasn’t ready for that..
