“It is a wonderful life”, Anna said to herself as she looked out the window, pondering on the life she had had so far…

Though she hated change, and wasn’t one to regard it as she enjoyed the comfort of her slow paced and quiet life.

Here she was, wishing for something new. Something different that will give her the zest she once had and craved for again.

It wasn’t that she was ungrateful for the life that she had or hated anything about it.

She grew up in a loving and Godly family with parents and siblings who love and cherish her dearly.

However, she felt weighed by the predictability of her life and the something new that God had promised to do with and for her.

God always kept His promises so she had nothing against Him.

However, it was the anticipation of the promises and when they would appear or rather manifest that made her stuck in the future imagining different scenarios of what God had in store for her.

Instead of being focused on the present and taking each day as they came.   Anna was bored of the present and wanted something lively and adventurous. Something good that she had never experienced before.

As she was pondering about the future, she recalled a memory of her having a conversation with her parents.

“Yes God is good and His thoughts towards you are of good not of evil to bring you to an expected end”, said mom.

“But the way to the expected end is not always expected or known”, said dad.

“Yes I know because His ways and thoughts are different from ours,” responded Anne as she rolled her eyes.

“Absolutely and hey do not be rude! The wait is to build character and mold us to the image of Christ. Not tear us down and make us despair,” chimed Mom.

“I am tired of waiting”, cried Anna.

“You are tired because you are waiting the wrong way! You are waiting on time and not God. Wait on Him and He will give you strength”, replied Dad.

She loved her parents dearly but at times, she felt like things came late for her or that there were moments when she felt God had completely deserted her and forgotten about her.

She knew it was  the devil feeding her these intrusive thoughts. However,  at times she couldn’t help but wallow in her self-pity.

She knew God loved her and wanted the best for her. But at times, she let fear and doubt take over and completely forgot the journey she was on.  God always found a way of redirecting her thoughts back to Him, His words and their love story.

Then she remembered who she was and why all those years ago she chose to take this Journey with Him as He had always been faithful to her. And she knew as long as she leaned on Him and trusted Him and remained steadfast, life would eventually creep up on her without her knowing.

And so even though life was not going as planned and things were boring and she often times felt lonely, she knew deep down along this journey she was on, life was about to get pretty exciting and somewhat unpredictable.
