Everybody has a story to tell. It doesn’t matter how boring or interesting your life is. The story is always there in the midst of things.

Life may have been wonderful, exciting, traumatic, aggravating, painful, or easy. It doesn’t matter what it was or is. What matters is how the story is weaving between the times of our lives and how we see it in order to tell it.

There is always a lesson to learn and something to discover. There is always something to know and something to uncover.

That is what Anne realised at 8 a.m. on a Saturday morning when she woke up to her mattress moving.

At first, she thought she was dreaming, even though she felt fully awake. She couldn’t pinch herself to know for sure, as she was strapped to her mattress like a psychopath in an asylum and her voice refused to cooperate with her.

Is this what they call a lucid dream? Anne thought to herself. Perhaps a lack of good sleep was making her hallucinate. But she wasn’t, because she was wide awake and had her wits about her.

What she wanted to know was how her mattress was moving and why she felt strapped to it, though nothing visible was around her. On the other side of the room, her sister slept peacefully without a care in the world, not knowing what was taking place at that very moment.

As her mattress began to rise from her bed, it tried to pass through the ceiling, but it wouldn’t go through, thankfully. Then it tried to pass through the wall—every side of the wall—but it just wouldn’t go through. Was she getting kidnapped? How did her mattress come to life? Had it always been alive? Was there a wizard nearby playing a trick on her?

As she tried to think of a way out, crazy thoughts kept passing through her head. She didn’t know what to do! She didn’t know how to save herself!

When her mattress began to lower itself onto the floor as it tried every possible way to get out, that’s when all hell broke loose. Was she about to visit hell without dying first? That would be a cruel joke! As the mattress touched the floor, about to go through, she finally found her voice and spoke the name of Jesus with all the strength she had left.

That’s when it stopped moving, and all of a sudden, she saw them. Things—or creatures—she had only seen in movies and heard people talk about.

Aliens, the green people. Reptilian, scaly, ugly, and terrifying! The frog spirits, as the Bible called them.Their hands were strapped across her body, preventing her from moving. Their big, oval, nasty eyes looked back at her. Their legs were through the floor. Was she hallucinating, or was she in an episode of Inception?

She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. She was terrified but at the sametime strangely calm. Were they actually real? And was this her first of many encounters?! Immediately, her mattress was back on her bed, and everything was back to normal. But Anne’s boring life had been drastically changed forever.
